Late notice, but I'm hosting a casual LAN and Geekfest party this Saturday, starting around 2pm, going until we can't go any longer (last time, that meant 4 or 5am)!

I'm thinking a little more casual this time, but still generally the more folks the better, so if you are a PC gamer, you are within two hours of Redding, and you are fun-positive, come on over. Being a little more casual, I think it would be fun to also take a break or two to rest the eyes and twitchy fingers, so bring your Magic cards and/or prepare for some Munchkin or something.

It's been a while since I blogged more than a gadget purchuse or LAN party notice. Life has been more or less stable, so I haven't felt compelled to write much. Basically, I've just passed my 9 year anniversary at work, and just had our MFO six year anniversary Rocky Horror Picture Show, and likewise coming up on a 6 year anniverasary with dating Sa_briel, plus opening our relationship toward my polyamorous ideals has been slowly progressing, a rocky sometimes painful sometimes exciting adventure. Laney is a new star in my constellation, for which I am quite happy. I am also still teaching sword fighting weekly (think Gladiator and Braveheart) as well as training in Myo Sim kendo weekly, though my Shotokan karate has fallen to the wayside of late. October will entail four days of steel sword fighting in the SF bay area and culminate in three Halloween RHPS shows (one of Friday and two on Saturday at the end of the month).

That's pretty much your overview of where I'm at. Cheerio. :)

I just ordered my own personal weather station (PWS)! It's the Ambient Weather WS-1080 Wireless Home Weather Station (w/ Data Logging). I'll have to build a low power logging system to connect it to and become another weather provider for Wunderground. :)

I'd really like to have at least 8 gaming computers at this party, the more the better (10+ would be great)! So if you are a PC gamer, you are within two hours of Redding, and you are fun-positive (i.e. no excessive verbally abusive and/or annoying posturing - I want everyone excited, fun and happy, not all put-down - thanks), I want YOU at my LAN party!

Following are details to make sure you're prepared BEFORE you arrive, so we don't spend 2 - 3+ hours setting up, configuring, installing, patching, etc.
